About Us
Overview
The Student Investment Association (SIA) is a student-run organization established to educate students in investing in the stock market. Our motto, “The path to financial freedom,” reflects our goal to help students make better investment decisions and gain control of their investments. We accomplish this by providing our student members with invaluable resources to assist in the development of their investment knowledge. Furthermore, we offer semester trips to major financial centers and bi-weekly meetings on investment strategies, guest speakers from top firms, stock market competitions and leadership opportunities.
What Do We do?
Analyst Program
The SIA Analyst Program is a team of dedicated, hardworking individuals with three main objectives: learn as much as possible about investing through conducting research and gaining hands-on experience, develop the SIA portfolio in an effort to maximize returns and minimize losses, use this knowledge and hands-on experience in their own lives in an attempt to attract potential employers and/or to accelerate their journey up the path to financial freedom.
The SIA strives to provide our analysts with resources such as IBD’s Equity Research Software and scheduled meetings in Eli Broad’s state of the art Financial Analysis Laboratory in an attempt to enhance the research experience.
Our Mission:
At the Student Investment Association we believe in:
- understanding the markets
- investing in great stocks in strong industry groups that are breaking out of sound bases
- using a solid set of buy, hold and sell rules to maximize profits and minimizes losses
Our Goal:
The SIA was established to bring students interested in investing in stocks together to learn how to invest in a straight forward and profitable approach. We provide our student members with resources to assist in the development of their investment knowledge and resources for market and stock analysis.
